Overview
Mi Note 3 adopts glass styling similar toMi 6, but uses Snapdragon 660 and Adreno 512 with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. It is also distinct from Note 2's curved OLED design.
Hardware differences
The maker specifies LPDDR4x and eMMC5.1, not Mi 6's UFS. Its surviving memory list includes later 4 GB options. Wide and telephoto 12 MP rear cameras offer four-axis OIS on the wide camera; the16 MP front camera's low-light pixel combination is not one native pixel size in every mode.
USB-C, NFC and IR accompany a single external speaker and no native3.5 mm socket. Software face unlock does not establish dedicated3D scanning hardware. Battery capacity is 3500 mAh typical and 3400 mAh minimum.
Firmware limits
The2017 firsthand review used China firmware. The maker describes a phased MIUI 9 upgrade, while a 2018 review reflects later software. The exact launch Android and MIUI patch versions are left unresolved rather than replaced by that later state.
