P990i 为 P 系列带来 Symbian 9.1、UIQ 3.0、UMTS、Wi-Fi 与自动对焦相机。数字翻盖后方的机身 QWERTY 键盘，让触控笔和实体文字输入成为并行选择。
年代与版本
2005 年 10 月 10 日发布时，厂商计划 2006 年第一季度供货；2006 年 8 月的评测仍注明使用样机，另有泰国实机拆盒及一周使用测试。本页把计划与实测分开，未确认的统一首销日留空。
原厂用户指南列最高 60MB 用户空间、随盒 64MB Memory Stick PRO Duo，并明确最高支持 8GB；较早公告的 80MB 用户空间与 4GB 卡是发布阶段的资料。2007 年 P1 白皮书的 P990 对照列进一步分出 64MB RAM、128MB 闪存与最高 60MB 用户区，避免混入邻列 P1 的 128MB RAM。
UIQ 3.0 是新的软件环境，早期 UIQ 应用需相应版本，不能只因同属 Symbian 就认为可直接安装。Wi-Fi 为 802.11b；FastPort 虽标 USB 2.0，原厂实际速度为 1.5/12Mbps，不能填成 480Mbps。两个实机测试记录 1120mAh 锂聚合物电池；录像 320×240、15fps 标明来自 8 月样机，不扩大为所有固件保证。
