Privacy Policy

ArchiveDock is designed to process your library and backup files locally. This policy explains what the app accesses, why it accesses it, what remains on your device or chosen storage, and when Apple or a service you select may receive information.

Effective July 27, 2026

ArchiveDock is designed to process your library and backup files locally. This policy explains what the app accesses, why it accesses it, what remains on your device or chosen storage, and when Apple or a service you select may receive information.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the ArchiveDock iOS and iPadOS app. ArchiveDock does not require an ArchiveDock account and does not operate a developer-hosted service for storing your photo library or backup files.

2. Data the app accesses

  • Photos and videos you permit ArchiveDock to read through PhotoKit.
  • Associated information needed for backup and restore, which may include filenames, resource types, file sizes, creation and modification dates, location metadata, favorite or hidden state, media subtype, and album membership.
  • Backup folders and files you explicitly select through the system Files picker, plus a local security-scoped bookmark that lets the app reconnect to an authorized location.
  • Local device storage capacity and file-system information needed to estimate whether an operation can complete.
  • App Store product and entitlement status supplied by StoreKit for the Pro Lifetime purchase.

3. How the data is used

  • Scan the library according to the date, media, and album scope you choose.
  • Copy original resources, create manifests and reports, calculate hashes, and package a backup.
  • Read and verify a backup, estimate restore contents, detect suspected duplicates, and restore supported items to Photos.
  • Display backup history, reconnect authorized folders, report progress, and diagnose errors on the device.
  • Confirm whether Pro Lifetime features are available.

4. Data the developer does not automatically collect

ArchiveDock does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics, or a developer-operated upload endpoint. The app does not automatically send the developer your photos, videos, backup files, manifests, reports, usage history, folder names, album names, device identifiers, or on-device diagnostics.

ArchiveDock does not receive your payment-card information or Apple Account password.

5. Local storage and retention

  • Backup history, workflow state, authorized-folder bookmarks, and app preferences are stored in the app’s local container until you delete the app or the app replaces data as part of normal operation.
  • Work files, completed ZIP files, manifests, and reports remain in the destination you selected until you delete or move them.
  • Temporary restore extraction is removed after use on a best-effort basis. An interruption may leave temporary or work files until iOS or ArchiveDock cleans them up.
  • Deleting ArchiveDock removes its local container under normal iOS behavior, but does not delete backups stored elsewhere in Files, on external drives, or with a file provider.
  • App Store purchase records are retained and controlled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

6. Sharing and third parties

ArchiveDock does not automatically share your content. If you use Share File, choose an iCloud Drive folder, select a third-party file provider, or otherwise export a backup, the destination you choose receives the file under its own privacy terms.

If iCloud Photos is enabled, PhotoKit may download originals from or upload restored items to Apple’s iCloud service. ArchiveDock does not control that transfer and cannot inspect your iCloud storage quota.

StoreKit communicates with Apple to show products, complete purchases, and restore entitlements. ZIPFoundation is bundled for ZIP processing and does not transmit your content by itself.

7. Support communications

If you contact support, the support channel receives the information you choose to provide, such as contact details, screenshots, error text, or attachments. That information is used to respond, investigate the issue, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations, and may be retained only as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Do not send original media, backup files, location metadata, or other sensitive content unless it is necessary, you understand the risk, and you choose to provide it.

8. Your choices and deletion

  • Change or revoke Photos access at any time in iOS Settings. Limited access may reduce scan coverage and duplicate detection.
  • Choose a different backup scope, destination, or restore option before starting an operation.
  • Delete completed backups, reports, and work folders with the Files app or the storage provider that holds them.
  • Delete ArchiveDock to remove its local history, bookmarks, preferences, and managed container data under normal iOS behavior.
  • Use the App Store’s purchase controls for purchase history, refunds, or entitlement questions. ArchiveDock cannot delete Apple’s transaction records.

9. Security and confidentiality

ArchiveDock uses iOS sandboxing, user-authorized file access, and on-device integrity checks. No method of storage is guaranteed against every loss or unauthorized access.

ArchiveDock stores file contents in ZIP without compression, and its backup files are not password-encrypted. A backup can contain original media and sensitive metadata. Protect the device and destination, use encrypted storage where appropriate, and share files only with trusted recipients.

10. Children and international processing

ArchiveDock is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly request personal information from children through an account or developer-operated service. Photos remain subject to the choices of the device owner or authorized user.

ArchiveDock does not transfer app data to a developer server. Apple, a file provider, a support channel, or another service you choose may process information in other countries or regions under its own terms and applicable law.

11. Policy changes and contact

This policy may be updated when app behavior, legal requirements, or platform services change. The revised effective date will be shown here, and material changes will be communicated as required by law.

For privacy questions or requests, use the App Support link on ArchiveDock’s App Store product page. Describe the request and avoid including unnecessary photo or backup content.
