Overview
Blade / Orange San Francisco represents early affordable Android phones, with a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive display, 600 MHz processor, removable battery and microSD. Regional RAM, OS and display batches are recorded separately.
Period and variants
Orange announces the UK San Francisco on 21 September 2010 at £99 prepaid, with availability that week. This establishes its UK announcement rather than a verified first retail date across all regions.
The UK original uses Android 2.1 and 512 MB RAM; CNMO’s inspected China V880 uses Android 2.2, 256 MB RAM and a 600 MHz MSM7227. The owner account also documents early UK AMOLED versus later TFT batches. San Francisco 2, U880 and later Blade-branded products are separate.
The UK retail release and firsthand review agree on 116 × 56.5 × 11.8 mm and 130 g, unlike the older guide. Its 512 MB total memory is distinct from about 150 MB usable storage and the bundled 2 GB card. The retail release claims a 32 GB card limit, while the archived guide says 8 GB; neither is generalized across regions.
Three physical navigation keys, top headphone socket, side Micro-USB, removable 1250 mAh battery and microSD slot define the hardware. The original lacks a front camera and flash. The two actual-device photographs preserve their screens without establishing RAM, display batch or factory firmware.
