Xiaomi 12X

Identity and family boundary

Xiaomi 12X was unveiled in China with 12 and 12 Pro on 28 December 2021 and entered the family's first sale on 31 December. It is not a capacity version of Xiaomi 12: Snapdragon 870, its software base and charging configuration make it separate hardware.

China configurations, body and display

China pairings are 8/128, 8/256 and 12/256 GB with LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1. The body is 8.16 mm and 176 g; Xiaomi does not list a separate vegan-leather size for 12X. Its 6.28-inch 2400×1080 AMOLED reaches 120 Hz refresh and 480 Hz touch sampling under Gorilla Glass Victus.

Cameras, charging and software

The main rear structure matches standard Xiaomi 12: a 50 MP IMX766 OIS main, 13 MP 123-degree ultrawide and 5 MP autofocus tele-macro, plus a 32 MP front camera. Tele-macro serves close-ups and is not a distant zoom camera.

Typical battery capacity is 4500 mAh and only 67 W wired charging is listed. Wireless and reverse wireless modes are not copied from Xiaomi 12. The base package also omits a power adapter, while accessories outside the phone box depend on the sales bundle.

12X launched with Android 11 under MIUI 13; Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro launched with Android 12 / MIUI 13. A shared MIUI major version does not establish the same Android base.
