Overview
Xiaomi MIX 4 was unveiled in China on 10 August 2021 and entered first sale on 16 August. It was Xiaomi's first mass-market camera-under-panel phone. The unbroken display does not mean the front camera is absent: a 20 MP module sits beneath the panel.
China configurations and ceramic body
The China inventory confirms 8/128, 8/256, 12/256 and 12/512 GB configurations with LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1. Black, white and Shadow Cyan Gray use an integrated lightweight ceramic body. Its 225 g weight should not be transferred to later MIX models.
The 6.67-inch AMOLED's 120 Hz figure is display refresh, while 480 Hz is maximum touch sampling. CUP engineering balances pixel density and light transmission; the archive does not turn that marketing description into a claim of selfie-quality parity with a conventional cutout camera.
Cameras, charging and connectivity
Rear cameras are a 108 MP OIS main, 13 MP 120-degree free-form ultrawide and 8 MP 5× OIS periscope. Wired 120 W, wireless 50 W and reverse wireless 10 W are distinct modes. Xiaomi lists a power adapter in the China package, while accessories outside the base box still depend on the selected sales bundle.
China SA/NSA 5G includes operator and software conditions for n1, n3, n5, n8 and n28. UWB is a hardware capability whose device-control functions require a compatible ecosystem. Launch software was Android 11 / MIUI 12.5. The firsthand review limits USB-C data to USB 2.0 speed; charging wattage does not imply high-speed data.
