Overview
Mi 2S updated Xiaomi's compact flagship in 2013 with Snapdragon 600 and MIUI V5. It remained a 3G handset; chipset capabilities do not establish LTE support in the finished phone.
Versions
The 16 GB model has an 8 MP rear camera, while the 32 GB version has 13 MP. A contemporary review reverses that pairing; the launch report and iXBT test support the pairing recorded here. This is a meaningful camera difference within the same marketed model.
The rear cover and battery are removable, but there is no microSD slot. iXBT verified OTG and MHL and only detected 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Its radio bands describe the tested WCDMA version.
Period and software
The announcement was reported on 9 April 2013. That is not assigned as a universal first-sale date. Contemporary devices ran Android 4.1.1 / MIUI V5. Battery sources differ between 2000 and 2030 mAh; the discrepancy is retained.
