Overview
X1 represents vivo’s early Hi-Fi phones, combining a 6.55 mm body, CS4398 / CS8422 audio stage, dual-core MT6577 platform, 4.7-inch qHD IPS display and fixed 2000 mAh battery.
Period and variants
X1 is introduced at Beijing’s Water Cube on 20 November 2012. Event coverage and preorder information establish the announcement, without establishing a verified first retail delivery day.
Original X1 pairs a 1.2 GHz MT6577-family dual-core platform with 1 GB RAM, 16 GB storage and a 4.7-inch qHD IPS screen. Contemporary firsthand sources quote about 140 g or 145 g, while the retained official table omits weight. Later X1S / X1St hardware is kept separate.
The inspected white handset combines a metal central rear panel with plastic end sections. Its navigation keys lack backlighting, and both USB and headphone connectors are on top.
The CS4398 DAC and CS8422 audio stage serve the headphone Hi-Fi path. Chip specifications, complete-device measurements and listening opinions are distinct: neither a chip’s 24-bit / 192 kHz rating nor a promotional SNR value establishes verified whole-phone performance.
Original Android 4.1 / 4.1.1 uses vivo’s own interface with scene desktops, gestures and voice features. Early Fun-touch scene-interface naming does not establish a later OS release. The black and white manufacturer renders preserve their original screens and rear views; they do not prove a retail firmware build.
