Overview
W810i updates the candybar Walkman design with a directional pad, quad-band GSM and EDGE, retaining autofocus imaging and card expansion.
Period and variants
Manufacturer documentation and hands-on reviews establish its 2006 period; an exact retail day is unverified. W810i replaces W800i’s joystick with a directional pad and removes the sliding lens cover.
GSM adds 850MHz and EDGE. Bluetooth 2.0 supports calls and file transfer, but stock software lacks A2DP stereo music. Its 20MB user space is separate from the contemporary 512MB bundled card. Headsets still connect through Fast Port.
