Overview
K700i combines MP3, FM, Java 3D and a VGA camera in a 1.8-inch colour-screen handset. Its phone front and landscape camera rear anticipate later K-series designs.
Period and variants
Contemporary March 2004 reporting announced K700 with a second-quarter plan; independent physical tests appeared by July. This entry covers international K700i, separate from regional suffixes, later firmware and K750i camera/card hardware. The factory whitepaper is the explicitly dated November 2004 R4A revision.
The sensor captures native 640×480 VGA. Extended 1280×960 interpolates that image rather than adding sensor pixels. Its LED photo light is not xenon flash. There is no card slot: music and video share internal storage. Factory user-free memory is up to 41 MB, distinct from an early 42 MB review, announcement 32 MB and initial free space; none represents working RAM.
Factory 700 mAh permits lithium-polymer or lithium-ion packs; the independent retail test uses 700 mAh Li-ion, while another early sample reports 670 mAh. Both remain qualified without guessing a cause. Factory thickness spans 17.9–19.5 mm. Bluetooth is 1.1 and the old connector predates Fast Port. FM stereo uses a wired headset that also supplies the antenna. Java 3D differs from T610’s Mophun platform.
