Overview
The 2003 M55 is a youth-oriented feature phone with Dynamic Light side LEDs, a 4096-colour screen and Java applications. Photography requires a separate QuickPic accessory.
Period and variants
M55 appeared at CeBIT in March 2003 and was tested as a retail product in Poland by July. Its sporty styling does not establish dust or splash protection; contemporary physical inspection identifies an ordinary housing.
The camera is an accessory, not integrated hardware. Siemens documents QuickPic IQP-530 with VGA 640 × 480 capture and accessory flash. Camera-bundled and phone-only packages differ. There is no Bluetooth or infrared; optional cables provide PC synchronization.
Factory and GSMOnline dimensions are 101 × 46 × 21 mm; a different review’s 22 mm shorthand is not adopted. Tested 1920 KB shared data storage is distinct from RAM and initial free space. Cubasis Mobile composes ringing tones and is not a full MP3 music player. Original WAP browsing is distinct from modern web compatibility.
