Overview
Samsung’s 2002 SGH-T100 combines a4096-colour TFT inner display, blue-lit outer screen and16-voice ringtones. Dual-band900/1800MHz and two replaceable battery packs are documented separately from later camera and smartphone generations.
Period and variants
The 2002 SGH-T100 pairs a rounded silver clamshell and protruding antenna with two displays. Samsung’s later retrospective, its original manual and contemporary CeBIT-era tests establish the period, without fixing a worldwide first retail day.
Its inner TFT LCD displays128×160 pixels and4096 colours; a blue-lit monochrome outer screen handles calls, time and status. Colour wallpapers and16-voice ringtones distinguish this generation. It remains dual-band GSM, withoutGPRS, infrared, Bluetooth orMMS. PC Link transfers pictures and melodies through the original download cable; the early test identifies a serial computer connection.
720mAh slim and900mAh extended packs are distinct, with reviewed94g and108g weights and added thickness. The April prototype test lists21.9mm, versus22.9mm in the later sample. The guide separates the top headset jack, bottom travel-adapter connector and independent charging cradle. CPU,RAM and total storage are left unverified.
