Overview
D600 updates the slider with a QVGA display, 2MP camera, microSD expansion, stereo speakers, Bluetooth stereo audio and TV output.
Period and variants
Samsung announced European introduction on 6 October 2005, following a March trade-show appearance. Neither is treated as an exact first retail day. Original D600 is quad-band GSM/GPRS; GSMArena tested tri-band, EDGE-capable D600E. Their radio capabilities must remain distinct.
The camera is fixed-focus. Launch material and another hands-on review specify 76MB file storage; early samples differ in partition and bundled-file accounting. It is not RAM. Dimensions and weight identify the factory announcement’s figures. Contemporary test batteries are 850mAh, but conflicting lithium-ion/polymer labels are left unforced. TV output and wired audio require compatible Samsung accessories. Picsel views documents without editing them.
