Galaxy S III brings quad-core Exynos and a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display to Samsung’s international flagship. This archive follows 3G GT-I9300 and qualifies battery, NFC and storage variants.
Period and variants
Samsung announced Galaxy S III on 3 May 2012 and explicitly began availability in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa on 29 May. The release date refers to that initial regional rollout, rather than every country, colour or capacity. The launch-period reviewed handset runs Android 4.0.4 with TouchWiz.
GT-I9300 has a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 and 1GB RAM. Family-wide LTE advertising and other carrier processors or memory do not define this 3G model. Samsung listed 16GB and 32GB while placing 64GB in a later availability category.
The front camera is precisely 1.9MP in factory and board evidence; some reviews round it to 2MP. The original battery incorporates the NFC antenna, a relevant detail when selecting replacements. Its rear cover exposes the removable 2100mAh battery and microSIM/card slots. MHL requires model-compatible accessories.
