Overview
Galaxy S II adds dual-core Exynos, Super AMOLED Plus and 1080p recording. This entry follows production international GT-I9100 hardware, with announcement and regional differences qualified.
Period and variants
Samsung’s 13 February 2011 announcement specified a 1GHz dual-core processor. The April commercial launch and May GT-I9100 retail test establish the production 1.2GHz clock, with Android 2.3.3 and TouchWiz 4.0 on the tested handset. A precise first-market retail day for GT-I9100 remains unverified.
The Korean launch table describes different weights, thicknesses, radio profiles and DMB hardware. Those figures are kept apart from the international 116g, 8.49mm design. NFC is an optional configuration.
The marketed 4.3-inch display appears as 4.27 inches in the original table. MHL requires a compatible adapter and external power. USB host support requires suitable accessories and does not guarantee every peripheral. The 1650mAh battery is removable; the tested microSD slot is not hot-swappable.
