Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon)

Overview

Snapdragon Redmi Note 3 adds A72/A53 processing, a 16 MP PDAF camera and a shared microSD tray. Original India specifications and contemporary hands-on reports keep radio and firmware differences visible.

Period and variants

Announced in China on 14 January 2016, the Snapdragon revision changes to Snapdragon 650 and Adreno 510. Two 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 cores complement four 1.4 GHz A53 cores. Both 2 GB / 16 GB and 3 GB / 32 GB versions exist; the original India higher-spec table identifies dual-channel LPDDR3 and eMMC 5.0. India’s 3 March event is a separate milestone.

Shared tray, different hardware

The tray takes MicroSIM plus NanoSIM, or MicroSIM plus microSD. The original India card limit is 32 GB. One review’s two-Nano prose contradicts its own table and a second firsthand hands-on; their consistent micro-plus-nano arrangement is retained. The metal rear has plastic antenna caps. A sealed battery, rear fingerprint reader, top IR and 3.5 mm jack, bottom microUSB 2.0 / OTG and rear mono speaker define the layout.

The 5.5-inch Full HD IPS accompanies a 16 MP f/2.0 PDAF rear, 5 MP f/2.0 front and dual-tone LED. Original 4000 / 4050 mAh typical capacity and reviewed minimum/typical terminology remain distinct. Contemporary hands-on charging is first-generation Quick Charge at 5 V / 2 A. India’s early software is MIUI 7 on Android 5.1.1. Maker Bluetooth 4.1 versus reviewed 4.0 remains unresolved, and India bands do not substitute for China all-network or special editions.
