Overview
The first Redmi Note 3G combines a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, MediaTek octa-core processor and standard dual SIM, with memory variants, regional 3G radios, 32 GB expansion and a removable battery recorded separately.
Period and variants
Contemporary reporting announces Redmi Note on 19 March 2014, with 26 March China sales still a plan. MediaTek MT6592 uses eight Cortex-A7 cores: standard 1.4 GHz / 1 GB or enhanced 1.7 GHz / 2 GB, both with 8 GB flash. The reviewed Mali-450 MP4 belongs to the 3G handset; the later single-SIM 4G version has a different processor.
Dual SIM and expansion
The primary slot uses its regional TD-SCDMA or WCDMA technology, with GSM on the secondary slot. Both original WCDMA tables list 900/2100 MHz, superseding the review’s conflicting 1900/2100 list. Standard mini SIM and microSD slots sit behind the removable cover; reviewed cards require battery removal. Official expansion is 32 GB. Native 3.5 mm, microUSB 2.0 / OTG and a rear mono speaker preserve period connections.
Original tables and reviewed hardware
The contemporary sample is about 154 × 78.7 × 9.5 mm and 200 g, with a glossy plastic rear and 720p IPS screen. Two firsthand accounts conflict on protective glass, so no specific brand is settled. Mainland original capacity is 3100 mAh, versus 3200 in the English original and GSMA review. The exact 3G pack and rated/typical mapping remains open. Mainland GPS/A-GPS and English/review GLONASS listings are scoped separately.
A 13 MP autofocus f/2.2, 28 mm-equivalent rear camera with LED records 1080p; the 5 MP front records 720p. Eight-photo-per-second burst and playback 30 fps are separate from recording rates. Introduction-era software is MIUI 5 / Android 4.2. The source photograph identifies a 2014 Redmi Note exterior, without establishing internal chipset or regional radio configuration.
