Overview
Redmi Note 2 brings Helio X10, Full HD IPS, PDAF and IR to the early large-screen Redmi line. Standard/Prime processor and storage, regional dual SIM, removable battery and conflicting front-video reports are recorded separately.
Period and variants
Redmi Note 2 and the higher-spec Note 2 Prime are announced in reporting on 13 August 2015, with 16 August China sales a contemporary plan. MT6795 Helio X10 brings eight Cortex-A53 cores, PowerVR G6200 and 2 GB LPDDR3: standard 2.0 GHz / 16 GB or Prime 2.2 GHz / 32 GB. Redmi 2 Prime and Mi Note 2 remain other phones.
Removable hardware
A 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen sits in an approximately 152 × 76 × 8.25 mm, 160 g handset; the review rounds depth to 8.3 mm. Matte removable plastic replaces the glossy rear. Dual MicroSIM and separate microSD retain expansion, officially 32 GB. Rated 3020 and typical 3060 mAh describe one battery capacity distinction. Top IR with MiRemote, microUSB 2.0 / OTG, native audio and a rear speaker preserve practical connections.
Regional radios and software
Hong Kong / dual-network models include TD/FDD-LTE, while the mainland mobile version has a separate TD-only table. One selected card uses LTE with GSM on the other. Original B41 subset endpoints differ by published table, so regional limits remain distinct. The contemporary review describes MIUI 6 or 7 on Android 5.0.1 by market/update status; a MIUI 7 event announcement does not prove every first retail unit ran it. A protective-glass brand is left open.
The 13 MP PDAF f/2.2 rear with LED records reviewed 1080p30. Original tables claim 1080p for the 5 MP front, while contemporary review and announcement specify 720p. The firmware/variant mapping remains unresolved. Camera suppliers may change. The original photograph retains its period desktop and source clarity without establishing a specific software version.
