Overview
The 2004 palmOne Treo 650 combines QWERTY, a 320 × 320 touchscreen, 312 MHz XScale, Bluetooth and a removable battery. GSM/EDGE and CDMA/1xRTT are distinct versions.
Period and variants
The original press release is dated 25 October 2004, with US carrier supply planned that year and international rollout in 2005. A single worldwide sale date is not assigned. Factory sheets specify Palm OS 5.4; the April 2005 GSM review unit runs Garnet 5.4.5.
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band CDMA2000 1xRTT are alternative radio versions. CDMA gpsOne support does not establish standalone satellite navigation across the family.
About 23 MB is available nonvolatile storage, not RAM. SDIO describes the card interface rather than universal accessory compatibility. Factory MP3 instructions require an expansion card. Documents To Go 7 is supplied on the installation CD, so its editing features require installation.
The Palm accessory connector and 2.5 mm socket differ from later micro-USB accessories. Buttons, a navigator and stylus share input duties. Period synchronisation and online features require separate verification with present-day systems.
