Overview

Find 5 marks OPPO’s move toward Full HD flagships. Original X909 combines a 5-inch IPS screen, S4 Pro, 2 GB RAM and a stacked 13 MP rear camera, with a separate front camera, NFC and headphone socket.

Period and variants

The Beijing introduction is on 12 December 2012. An OPPO executive’s subsequent statement schedules 29 January, and the contemporary sale report confirms availability that day. This entry records 29 January 2013 as the original retail date.

The original X909 uses S4 Pro APQ8064 at 1.5 GHz. The later TD-SCDMA X909T changes to Snapdragon 600. Original Android 4.1.1 and OPPO’s interface precede later Color ROM / ColorOS installations; international Google apps do not define Chinese software packages.

The steel structural frame is distinct from the coated non-metal rear. Retail hardware has illuminated capacitive keys, and the follow-up review reports GPS improvements over engineering samples. The approximately 8.8 mm thickness is also listed as 8.86 mm in an early review.

The 13 MP rear and separate 1.9 MP front cameras are distinct. 1080p recording and the 120 fps high-speed mode are separate specifications. Dirac headphone processing does not establish a dedicated Hi-Fi chip.
