Overview
One is OnePlus’s first 2014 phone, with Snapdragon 801, 3 GB RAM, a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS screen, IMX214 camera and fixed 3100 mAh battery. International invitations, mainland sales and CyanogenMod/ColorOS configurations are kept distinct.
Period and variants
OnePlus introduces its first One on 23 April 2014. CNMO records the first regular mainland sale at noon on 28 May, while international purchasing uses invitations. These events do not establish one verified earliest retail date worldwide.
Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC, 3 GB LPDDR3 and 16/64 GB storage are separate from early rumours and other chip suffixes. There is no microSD. Both capacities appear in the initial white mainland sale; colour and capacity are not permanently tied. The body is 8.9 mm at its thickest, while 4.6 mm describes the thin edge. Teardown identifies a fibre-reinforced polycarbonate internal frame and plastic rear cover.
International CyanogenMod 11S uses Android 4.4.2. Contemporary Chinese review samples also use ColorOS 1.2 on Android 4.3; camera modes and gestures vary by firmware. International radio bands do not describe every mainland TD variant. Alternative SIM trays still share one slot.
The IMX214 rear camera and separate 5 MP front camera serve different roles. Video capture modes distinguish regular UHD/DCI recording from slow motion. Two bottom speakers produce mono output in GSMArena’s test. The removable rear cover does not make the internal 3100 mAh battery user-removable, and a charging-capable chip alone does not establish a phone-level fast-charge protocol. The photographs preserve their original screen, Sandstone texture and Cyanogen branding without establishing every market’s launch firmware.
