Overview
N70 is an early Nseries imaging smartphone with a sliding camera cover, 2 MP main camera, front video-call camera, stereo FM and Series 60 applications.
Period and variants
Nokia announced N70 on 27 April 2005 with third-quarter availability planned. This archive covers the UMTS-capable original, keeping later regional GSM-only models, Music Edition and N72 separate. Published thickness differs by source and development stage; the trim is plastic.
The sliding cover activates the rear camera. The main camera lacks autofocus, and 352 × 288 video is separate from still-image resolution. 30 MB is user storage, not total RAM. Expansion uses dual-voltage RS-MMC / MMCmobile. Card removal requires letting applications close after opening the cover.
The factory guide specifies Bluetooth 1.2; early 2.0 descriptions were corrected. Headset compatibility does not establish native A2DP. The commercial-unit 970 mAh battery and prototype 900 mAh report are distinguished. Contemporary supplied Quickoffice applications are viewers; editing requires separate software.
