Overview
The Lumia 920 combines optical stabilization, a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ IPS display and integrated Qi charging with Windows Phone 8. Its 8.7 MP PureView camera emphasizes low-light handling rather than the 808’s 41 MP system.
Period and variants
Announced on 5 September 2012, the Lumia 920 launched with Windows Phone 8. November-era tests establish contemporary availability, while regional retail dates and LTE bands remain separate. Its 32 GB storage has no card slot.
The stabilized f/2.0 camera differs from the 808’s high-resolution system and the 1020’s sensor. Its IPS LCD also differs from their AMOLED panels. Nokia’s launch lists a 1.2 MP front camera, while some reviews use 1.3 MP; this difference is preserved rather than silently merged.
Qi reception is built in, with an external charging pad still required. USB and Bluetooth sharing follow period WP8 behavior, not later firmware. The white and black bodies shown are physical handsets. Online-service descriptions reflect the launch era.
