Overview

E61 pairs a landscape QVGA display and full keyboard with Symbian 9.1, Wi-Fi, 3G, email and editable office documents in a camera-free business smartphone.

Period and variants

Nokia announced the Eseries family on 12 October 2005 with first-quarter 2006 availability planned. This archive uses the E61-1 guide and contemporary handsets. E61i camera hardware and E62 wireless omissions remain separate. Keyboard layouts vary by market; the second photograph shows French AZERTY.

The landscape 320 × 240 display supports email and office work. Document editing and PDF viewing are distinct capabilities. Wi-Fi, SIP calling and historical enterprise email describe period functionality and depend on configuration and providers. S60 third edition does not guarantee compatibility with older native applications.

Expansion is miniSD, with a 2 GB card actually tested. 64 MB denotes file storage; approximately 22.5 MB free after startup cannot establish total RAM. CPU clock sources differ, so no frequency is inferred. Navigator needs an external Bluetooth GPS accessory. The replaceable 1500 mAh BP-5L follows the contemporary lithium-ion specification.
