Overview
Nokia 9210 Communicator brings its landscape keyboard and 640 × 200 colour screen to Symbian / EPOC, combining email, fax, document editing and supplied 16 MB MMC with GSM and HSCSD connectivity.
Period and variants
Nokia announced 9210 on 21 November 2000 with first-half 2001 availability planned; European shipment reporting followed in June. Original RAE-3N remains separate from 9210i software / storage and 9290 regional bands.
The 4096-colour internal display supports keyboard-based office work. Word and Sheet edit documents, while Presentation Viewer displays slides. Imaging relies on an external infrared camera rather than built-in camera hardware; video playback is separate from recording.
Contemporary actual use establishes 8 MB total RAM, with approximately 4 MB available to applications. Supplied 16 MB MMC stores files and some software rather than adding RAM. Original 9210 has HSCSD but neither GPRS nor Bluetooth. DLR-2 is serial. Clock frequency and internal file capacity remain unspecified without a confirmed original technical table.
