Overview
Nokia 9110 Communicator joins a phone, full keyboard, 640 × 200 grayscale display and GEOS applications in a folding device, with GSM data calls, fax, email, MMC, infrared and serial PC connectivity.
Period and variants
The contemporary CeBIT report on 18 March 1998 gave a third-quarter availability plan. This archive covers original 9110 and its revised guide / service documentation. Its PDA uses an AMD 486 at 33 MHz; factory documentation identifies GEOS and Embedded DOS-ROM.
The service table separates 2 MB user files, 4 MB fixed applications and 2 MB PDA RAM. Their sum is not 8 MB RAM. The internal 640 × 200 display has 16 grayscale levels; the external phone display is 84 × 48. A documented 4 MB MMC accessory establishes neither a capacity ceiling nor every package’s contents.
The period HTML 3.2 browser excludes Java and JavaScript. Data calls, fax and email depend on service configuration. DLR-2 is serial rather than native USB. BLN-3 capacity follows the consistent 1030 mAh basic / electrical tables, with the conflicting accessory line and weight records acknowledged.
