Period and variants
Nokia announced 5800 XpressMusic on 2 October 2008 and reported shipments in the fourth quarter. That period does not establish one first retail day across all markets.
The original hands-on CPU measurement was 369MHz. A February 2010 review update explicitly reports 434MHz after a firmware change; that later figure is not presented as the launch clock. The 128MB RAM, factory-listed 81MB file area and original bundled 8GB card are separate. The launch sheet documents optional 16GB cards without establishing an absolute limit for all later firmware.
The two documented 3G configurations use 900/2100 or 850/1900MHz, rather than all four bands in one handset; the factory sheet also lists GSM-only hardware. WLAN figures refer to configurations that include it. Factory nHD recording and the retail review’s VGA recording are both qualified. Micro-USB transfers data but does not charge; the separate charger socket and compatible AV television cable remain relevant.
