Overview
Nokia’s 2006 music slider combines a QVGA display, dedicated controls, 1.3 MP camera and A2DP with removable BL-5B and microSD. Regional tri-band radios, Mini-USB data and the 2.5 mm headphone socket are distinguished.
Period and variants
Announced on 27 September 2006, the 5300 XpressMusic is a Series 40 3rd Edition music slider. Nokia plans select-market shipments within weeks; a worldwide first retail date remains open. Its dedicated music keys, QVGA screen and 1.3 MP camera stay separate from the similar 5200. An exact Feature Pack is not established here.
RM-146 and Americas RM-147 / 5300b use different tri-band radios. The native socket is 2.5 mm; AD-50 accepts 3.5 mm headphones without a microphone line. The release says micro USB, whereas the guide drawing and two hardware reviews identify five-pin Mini-USB. A separate top socket charges the battery, despite the guide’s inconsistent bottom-location sentence.
Both contemporary reviewers test stereo Bluetooth music, also represented by the guide’s playback menu. This does not imply FM streaming to wireless headphones. Nokia advertises 2 GB microSD. Reviewed 7 MB user space is distinct from RAM; the 860 mAh BL-5B is removable. Endurance figures are conditional estimates.
