Dates and versions
Nokia announced the 3310 on 1 September 2000 and expected availability in the fourth quarter of that year. An exact first retail day remains unverified, so the date field is empty. The original is catalogued separately from the 2017 and later revivals.
Use and collecting
This record uses the original GSM 900/1800 specification. Nokia stated a 133g weight with the standard nickel-metal hydride battery; the nominal 900mAh capacity comes from physical-inspection documentation. Replacement batteries can differ in type or capacity and do not redefine the original configuration.
Long messages joined three SMS units, while SMS Chat presented an exchange as a conversation. The manual lists Snake II, Space Impact, Bantumi and Pairs II. Manufacturer talk and standby figures were contemporary test maximums, rather than the expected endurance of an aged battery.
