Overview

Announced in 2005 and shipped in 2006, Nokia 3250 switches its rotary segment between numeric keys, a 2 MP camera and music controls. S60 3rd Edition, 176 × 208 colour display, Pop-Port and the original 1 GB card limit are recorded.

Period and variants

Nokia announces the original 3250 on 26 September 2005. A July update confirms March 2006 shipping, without establishing a worldwide first retail day. Its rotary segment changes between keypad, camera and music controls. The guide limits movement to 90° right or 180° left from communication mode; it does not support a full forced revolution. Self-portraits use the same camera.

S60 3rd Edition and Symbian 9.1 require compatible applications. Pop-Port data and the separate charging socket remain distinct. A headset remote supplies the 3.5 mm socket; the phone itself does not. The guide lists Bluetooth 2.0 without A2DP.

Original launch material advertises 1 GB microSD; the September 2006 refresh advertises 2 GB. XpressMusic branding alone does not identify the refresh. The regional sheet’s 8 MB is user storage. The mode illustration is the source author’s composite of three actual handset photographs, accompanied by an original audio-remote photograph.
