Overview
The Milestone combines Android 2.0, a 3.7-inch touchscreen and a landscape QWERTY slider. Its GSM / UMTS configuration remains distinct from the visually similar US CDMA Droid.
Period and variants
Motorola’s 2 November 2009 Argentina announcement describes Android 2.0 and a subsequent supply plan. January and March tests provide hardware evidence, rather than one worldwide retail day. The original announcement was checked in indexed text; its current direct page could not be read.
The four-row keyboard includes a directional pad and the rear battery cover contains metal. The OMAP3430’s 600 MHz rating and the test’s 550 MHz operating rate are kept distinct. RAM, total flash, user space and the bundled 8 GB card describe different storage layers.
Both tests support 720 × 480 camera video but differ on frame rate. European UMTS 900 / 2100 is not combined with other markets or CDMA Droid. Launch Android 2.0 and its lack of a MOTOBLUR overlay are period-specific.
