Overview
The Atrix 4G combines Tegra 2, 1 GB RAM, a qHD display and a fingerprint power button. Optional Lapdock and Webtop extend the phone into a desktop-browser setup; its original AT&T 4G branding refers to HSPA+.
Period and variants
The 5 January 2011 CES announcement planned first-quarter availability. This entry uses MB860 / AT&T hardware and launch Android 2.2, including the review’s 2.2.1 build, with later software and Atrix 2 kept separate.
Tegra 2 has two cores at 1 GHz each, not a 2 GHz per-core clock. The advertised 48 GB combines 16 GB onboard with an optional 32 GB card. The phone has micro-USB and micro-HDMI; the multimedia dock’s larger port set is external.
The optional 11.6-inch Lapdock supplies a screen, keyboard, trackpad and battery, while the docked phone provides computation. Webtop’s Firefox desktop differs from phone Android and is not a standalone Windows laptop. Accessory photographs are captioned separately. Original AT&T HSPA+ branding is not LTE.
