Overview
KG800 Chocolate pairs a glossy slider with red-lit touch navigation, physical numeric keys, a1.3MP camera,128MB file storage and MP3 playback.
Period and variants
This archive covers the2006 GSM KG800. A French launch report appeared on11 May; the late-May review used a test sample. Neither date establishes one worldwide first retail day. Other Chocolate regional models remain separate, and the white photograph shows the KG800 rectangular navigation area and slider.
The red panel is touch navigation rather than a touchscreen.128MB is shared file storage, not RAM. There is no card slot or native3.5mm phone socket; the wired remote provides the headphone adapter. LED lighting and digital zoom do not establish xenon flash or optical zoom.
The800mAh lithium-ion-polymer battery and lack of in-call speakerphone are May sample observations; another handset test confirms Bluetooth1.2 and MIDP2.0. USB file mode uses LG’s proprietary connector. The review’s invalid “USB1.2” wording is not adopted as a standard. Accessories, firmware and replacement batteries remain qualified.
