Overview
HTC’s 2011 dual-core Android smartphone combines a 4.3-inch qHD screen, Sense 3, 8 MP camera and 1080p recording with a removable battery. Original-model boundaries, regional radios and differing battery records are stated.
Period and variants
HTC announces Sensation on 12 April 2011, planning Q2 European/Asian shipments and a summer T-Mobile US launch. No worldwide first retail day is established. The original software is Android 2.3 with Sense 3; the contemporary T-Mobile review records 2.3.3. Later upgrades, XE and XL remain separate.
The 4.3-inch qHD screen sits above four capacitive keys. Despite unibody marketing, the guide and actual handsets show a removable metal-and-plastic wraparound cover and replaceable battery. The card is accessible without removing the battery; the SIM is underneath it. A top 3.5 mm socket, left Micro-USB and adapter-dependent MHL remain distinct.
GSMArena records 1520 mAh; MobileTechReview’s T-Mobile prose and table both record 1540 mAh. The guide does not resolve this difference. Sensation 4G denotes carrier HSPA marketing, not LTE. Regional 3G radios require separate verification. Reviewed 4 GB total flash, roughly 1 GB user space and 768 MB RAM are different quantities. CamWow’s original photograph shows two handsets front and rear; its carrier marking does not establish a worldwide variant.
