Overview
Nexus 5 continues Google’s LG partnership with a 4.95-inch Full HD IPS display, Snapdragon800, optical camera stabilization and official LTE support.
Period and variants
Google announced Nexus 5 on 31 October 2013 and explicitly opened Google Play sales that day in its first markets. The date describes ordering availability, not every region’s delivery. Launch Android4.4 and later camera/software updates differ.
Google’s rest-of-world LTE profile is bands1/3/5/7/8/20; North American LTE/CDMA hardware is separate. The display is 4.95 inches, marketed as 5. CPU speed uses factory 2.26GHz rather than the review’s rounded 2.3GHz.
The two bottom grilles house one speaker and a microphone. Original tested1080p video has mono audio despite two microphones. Its embedded battery supports wireless charging and compatible SlimPort adapters provide wired display output.
