Overview
Google’s first Nexus phone with LG combines a glass back and 4.7-inch IPS display with quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB RAM and wireless charging.
Period and variants
Google announced Nexus 4 on 29 October 2012; LG’s Korean release carries a 30 October dateline. The earlier Google date is recorded. Planned first Google Play sales on 13 November do not establish every region’s actual first-sale day. Launch software is Android 4.2.
Official sold configuration supports GSM/UMTS/HSPA+, not LTE. Teardown components and unofficial firmware discussions do not turn LTE into an advertised production feature. Nominal 8/16GB storage is not expandable.
Wired display output uses SlimPort. Contemporary testing finds no standard stock USB OTG support. The embedded 2100mAh battery supports wireless charging. Conflicting endurance and camera frame-rate conditions are not generalized into universal claims.
