Overview
Galaxy Nexus introduces Android 4.0 on Samsung hardware with a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display and software navigation. This entry follows global HSPA hardware.
Period and variants
Samsung and Google announced Galaxy Nexus in Hong Kong on 19 October 2011, planning rollout from November. A precise universal first-sale day remains unverified. Android 4.0 introduces software navigation, Android Beam and camera-based Face Unlock here.
The HSPA profile uses 135g, 8.94mm, 1750mAh and five-band WCDMA. Carrier LTE hardware differs. This entry records common 16GB HSPA storage; family announcement 16/32GB options are not universal retail configurations.
TI OMAP4460 pairs dual Cortex-A 9 cores with SGX540 graphics. A 5MP autofocus camera records 1080p. Software navigation consumes some usable display area, so panel resolution is not every application’s full viewport.
