Overview
The T28s combines a slim body, a side-released keypad flip and a compact antenna. Its GSM 900 / 1800 radio and Ultra Slim lithium-polymer battery belong to this model; optional packs and the WORLD version need separate identification.
Period and variants
Ericsson’s history dates the T28 introduction to January 1999; the Mobile Phone Museum gives 28 January. The manufacturer also records delayed delivery, while a September loan-unit test already exists. These records do not establish one worldwide retail day.
The T28s uses GSM 900 / 1800; T28 WORLD uses 900 / 1900. Combining them would create a fictitious tri-band configuration. A miscategorized WORLD photograph has therefore been excluded.
Dimensions differ between the original guide and German brochure, so both are shown. The 83 g specification uses the Ultra Slim battery. BUS-10 is 500 mAh; larger 650 and 1400 mAh options change thickness, weight and endurance. The handset has no integrated infrared port: the guide’s infrared connection uses an external modem accessory.
