At a glance
The iPhone 6s Plus brought A9, 2GB RAM and 3D Touch to the 5.5-inch format, with optical stabilisation for both photos and video.
Dates and versions
Announced 9 September 2015; first retail availability was 25 September, including mainland China. Launch software was iOS 9 with 16/64/128GB storage; 32GB followed later.
Its 5.5-inch Full HD display accompanies optical stabilisation for photos and video. The inspected battery is 2750mAh, below the 6 Plus’s 2915mAh. Because the teardown qualifies its RAM-capacity inference, the 2GB rating is also checked against a contemporary hands-on review. The 7000-series aluminium body retains Lightning and 3.5mm connections; radio bands depend on the regional model.
RAM and battery ratings come from physical inspections and hands-on reports, rather than Apple’s public specification table. The date field uses first-market retail availability.
