Dates and versions
Announced 9 September 2015 and first sold on 25 September, including mainland China. Launch software was iOS 9 with 16/64/128GB storage; archive entries for 32GB and iOS 11 reflect later stages.
The teardown identifies 2GB LPDDR4 and a 1715mAh battery. The smaller 6s lacks the 6s Plus camera’s optical stabilisation. 3D Touch adds pressure-sensitive actions, while Live Photos captures motion around a still image. NFC serves Apple Pay; cellular compatibility must be checked by A-model.
RAM and battery ratings come from physical inspections and hands-on reports, rather than Apple’s public specification table. The date field uses first-market retail availability.
